The game planning started by December 2015, and full-scale development began after the 3DS / Wii U download content (DLC) was completed. The roster ranges from Nintendo mascots to third-party franchise characters, and the game is supported by post-launch downloadable content, with additional fighters and other content. Ultimate features over 80 playable fighters, including all Super Smash Bros.
It offers a wide range of game modes, including single player campaigns and multiplayer modes. Controlling one of the different characters, players need to use different attacks to weaken their opponents and knock them out of the arena.
